1. Who We Are
Biblo is a free, open-source church presentation tool built and maintained by Abound Media. We make software for churches — not for advertisers, not for data brokers. Our contact email is harvestsocialhq@gmail.com.
2. What We Collect
Data stored on your computer only
All of the following lives entirely on your machine and is never transmitted to us:
- Bible translations you have downloaded
- Songs and lyrics you have imported or created
- Service plans, slides, and media files
- Application settings and display preferences
- Voice mode selection and downloaded voice models
Data we never see
When you use offline voice detection, speech is processed locally on your device. No audio is sent anywhere. When you use online voice detection, audio is sent directly to a speech recognition provider for transcription — Biblo receives only the resulting text, not the audio recording.
3. Audio and Speech
Biblo automatically chooses one of these voice engines, in order of preference, depending on your operating system and what you've set up:
- Apple native voice (Mac only) — uses the Speech recognition built into macOS. Where your Mac supports it, this runs on-device. Apple's on-device/server behaviour and privacy practices for this feature are governed by Apple, not Abound Media — see Apple's own privacy documentation for details.
- Offline voice — a local AI model runs entirely on your computer. The audio never leaves your device. No one outside your room hears your service.
- Online voice — only used if you add your own API key in Settings → Voice. Audio is sent to that third-party speech recognition service for transcription. The resulting text is returned to Biblo. We do not store transcripts on our servers.
- Standard voice — your browser's built-in speech recognition (the Chromium engine bundled with Biblo), used as a free, no-setup fallback. Audio is processed by that engine the same way it would be in a Chrome browser tab.
In every mode, Biblo itself does not record or retain audio files. The transcription is used only to detect scripture references in real time and is discarded when you stop the live session or close the app.
4. Onboarding Data
When you first install Biblo, we ask for some optional information to help us understand how churches use the software:
- Church or organisation name
- Country
- Email address (optional)
This information is stored locally in your Biblo config and, if you choose to share it, sent once to Abound Media. We use it to understand which regions Biblo is helping and to send occasional updates about new features. We do not share this information with third parties and you can opt out of sharing it during setup.
You can delete your onboarding data at any time from Settings → About → Clear registration data.
5. Usage Analytics
Biblo may collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the software. This includes:
- Which features are used (e.g., voice detection started, service list created)
- Application version and operating system
- Crash reports and error logs
These statistics are anonymous. They do not include sermon content, verse choices, song names, or any personal information. Analytics collection is shown during first-launch setup and can be disabled in Settings.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. Full stop.
We may share data only in these narrow circumstances:
- Speech recognition providers — when online voice is active, audio is transmitted to a provider under their own privacy terms. Offline voice avoids this entirely.
- Legal requirements — if required by law or to protect the rights of users.
- Business succession — in the event Abound Media merges with or transfers assets to another organisation, user data would be part of that transfer under the same privacy commitments.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data — all local data is in your Biblo user folder, readable at any time
- Delete your data — uninstall Biblo and delete the user data folder to remove everything
- Opt out of analytics and onboarding data sharing during setup or in Settings
- Export your songs, slides, and service plans using the backup tool in Settings
To exercise any of these rights or ask a question, email harvestsocialhq@gmail.com.
8. Children
Biblo is software for church operators — not for children to use directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information through our onboarding, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where practical, show a notice inside the app. Continued use of Biblo after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
